'Cisco Systems, Inc. is an American multinational technology conglomerate corporation headquartered in San Jose, California, in the center of Silicon Valley. Cisco develops, manufactures and sells networking hardware, software, telecommunications equipment and other high-technology services and products.'
My work designing at Cisco has specifically been in the cyber security part of the enterprise. Specifically with sub-brands like Cisco Security, Cisco Umbrella and Duo.
Event design
With Cisco our team was responsible for concepting and designing most of the security event experiences. One of the latest being the Black Hat 2024 event. Being the lead designer on this, part of my role was to present three different ideas for the event, the chosen concept being what you see above. Other responsibilities I have is delivering additional print and digital assets that are cohesive with the event experience. The most joyful part of this was designing a custom claw game machine for the attendees to interact and play with.
Motion Graphics
Even though motion wasn't necessarily a part of my job description, I felt it was crucial to integrate motion design into our work whenever possible. Aside from my existing experience with programs like After Effects and Premiere, I took the initiative to take some additional classes on motion design to expand my skills and bring more life to my teams work. With time, we've integrated more motion into our digital ads, presentations and event spaces.
eBooks + Guides
A big part of Cisco's outreach and product/solution education includes eBooks and guides. As a designer my job is to take specific data and overall information and transform it into a clear and thoughtfully designed document within our brand guidelines. These usually live on Cisco.com. Some of these documents are also used in lead gen campaigns.
Landing Page Graphics
One of my responsibilities at Cisco is being able to create design assets for the modern and minimal landing pages. This includes headers, icon creation and overall graphics. We follow the site structure templates given to us by the web team. It 's a great exercise in bringing complex yet crucial concepts into visually inviting designs. It has also created great connections and opportunities to work with other teams at Cisco.

Digital ads & Social graphics
Above are some examples of the digital ads and social graphics i've made and adapted for all social platforms. This could be for anything from a new eBook campaign, to informing our clients and followers on new security presentations made by industry leading experts. Most of these are considered paid media ads.
Designs for Print
One of the advantages of being at Cisco is designing for a diverse range of print projects. These projects range from postcards and large event booths to Cisco merchandise like clothing and reusable water bottles.
Spot Illustrations
Some highlights of my work with Cisco is designing Spot Illustrations. These are used to visually represent more complex security concepts to the everyday user. Designed with the brand collage style in mind, the vector icons help the images clearly stand out in small spaces on the Cisco Secure and Umbrella web pages. There usually is some form of headline and/or description featured below each Spot Illustration.
